Fifty at the Flea {part II}

Tuesday, 24 September 2013

Continued from yesterday....

11. Hand Painted Jars

where/what/when: I would use them to store jewelery or just adorn by book shelf

12. Toy Car- Antique/Junk

where/what/when: its just really cool, beacuse of how old it is. I'm sure we can find use for it. Just on top of my head- use it in the garden or balcony around planters and put a flowerpot in it as well

13. Mason Jars.

where/what/when: you do get them in stores, however- the prices here are a steal. Pintrest has a whole bunch of ideas that you can test

14. Distressed Door

where/what/when: old doors converted into shelves. Absolutely love the textures on some of them.

15. Rustic Bench
where/what/when: for your balcony, garden, living- where ever you want to sit

16. Signage Inspiartions
where/what/when: have a store, garage sale, pop up restaurant- use this idea for your signage

17. Rustic Table and Buckets

where/what/when: again, great as an outdoor bar counter and use the buckets for cold beer or trash or simply convert them into planters

18. Copper Fire Extinguisher
where/what/when: umbrella stand/planter

19.Painted Mirror

where/what/when: for the wall in your bar; if you need to quickly throw on that red lipstick- you could use this mirror too

20. Frames

where/what/when:  again, one of my favorite accessory. Make a set and put them up by them selves or put pictures or art or I'd say pluck some favorite pages of your favorite novel and frame away!

coming up tomorrow.....

more flea finds!

Friday, 5 April 2013

Back to the blog this week and somehow after all that Instagraming, I looked into framing photos. I wanted to help a friend frame hers and there's a lot I found. It is according to me, one of the best forms of wall decor. You know why - its hard to go wrong, your going to love your own pictures, its economical, its memories, its easy, its THERAPY!

Instagram Walls

Sunday, 31 March 2013

I started to use Instagram a while before my wedding. I think I was obsessed with getting good photos at the time. My sister-in-law introduced me to this new app on the phone. Initially it was fun and great time killer- now I have realized that you can do so much with it, its kind of crazy. I stopped at this cafe/ coffee shop recently. First off, great appeal on the sign board- it was a chalkboard (you know I'm obsessed with it!) Second, its called SHOTS, Third, they have yummy coffee. Fourth, the main point of this post- they have a whole wall filled with Instagram pictures in different genres. So, basically they have random people(read regulars) who submit their Instagram photos to them, and they print it, frame it and put it on their wall. Easy, Simple, Economic- Instatherapy!

Reminicising Weddings!

Thursday, 7 February 2013

I know its the second post this week on framing, but I couldn't resist putting up this one. I have always wondered how you can put up one or at the most two pictures of your wedding on your wall. For me, I had a blast and it showed in my pictures. I wanted to look at them everyday. Why not right? If your married to the same man for your entire life (yea! my fingers are crossed), what's wrong in putting up tons of pictures of your wedding? Here was my edition of wedding photo THERAPY!

Framed

Tuesday, 5 February 2013

My husband has a car fetish. My mother-in-law said that as a baby he would watch their car in the garage and eat his food . So when we moved to our new house I wanted to put up car pictures on the wall of our bar. Instead of random pictures or posters I framed a bunch of old car advertisements. This lead me to frame some old coke advertisements as well. It gives a vintage feel and makes our walls so pretty. Framing THERAPY!
