eleven pm, the day after X'mas and four days left to touch the New YEAR and this is exactly how I feel! How you ask? Like this, colourful, crazy, happy, sad, anxious, thrilled. Now, I can sit here for another 20 hours and tell you why sad? why colourful? why that and why this- but I'd rather show you through Rikki Snyder's photographs. Man! I love this photographer- what an eye for detail! I spotted her first on houzz a long time ago and on anindiansummer a while ago, love at first sight for moi.

Couple a weeks ago, I was in Mumbai and was fortunate to attend a gallery hop; part of the Good Homes magazine's art week. First off, it was a great experience to meet other bloggers and interact about art, decor, Mumbai ......and more. What was more exciting was visiting various art galleries around Colaba with Elise, of Asia Art Projects and talking to the curators themselves. I must say, some of the galleries have done such a great job with the display and overall ambiance. I am not too much of an art person- but was still able to appreciate a lot of it that evening. Definitely want to say- kudos to the Good Homes Magazine's team for putting in so much effort to promote art in the city.

Well, well, I would have told you the whole story and what they did and how their beautiful daughter eventually got married; but I thought I'll leave it to the guests in my house to decide the story they want to prescribe.

So,THIS is how its all started. I found a bunch of old post cards which were painted in traditional styles during my last visit to Jaipur. Luckily soon enough I found old stamp paper/agreement papers that had kings and queens and their whole troop hand painted on one side in an antique store in Delhi.

RESULT: easy/pretty framed wall arts

I met Vandana straight out of college. I interned under her and went on to work under her for a good year and a half. Her precision in work is immaculate. She would get the best out of me and my fledgling knowledge about architecture. 

An architect by profession, but a genius with art; today, it makes me proud to dedicate this post to her work.

The first time I payed attention to a gift wrapped present was when I was between 5-10 years old. I'm almost positive that all of you reading this post will be able to identify "that one time" when you got a gift or two and couldn't wait to tear the wrapping away. I for sure grew up in an age where we weren't big on wrapping gifts. And then came this transformation phase where gifts were wrapped- well with ugly wrapping sometimes/most-times. Anyways, now I'm at a point- where I cant do without wrapping a gift and I am bent upon wrapping it well, I like to add a bow or a flower or something to make it more desirable. Something about it; even if it is a box of cookies or a bottle of wine, there's something about wrapping them before gifting! I met one of the most creative genius last month in Pune. Miss WRAPISTRY herself- Amruta Walvekar. She brought a bunch of boxes to show me as we sipped on some tea and I was in love. Again, you have to see it to believe it! She has the eye when it comes to the colors, textures, font, ribbon and many more details. I know its a small thing but that's what we like at room therapy: small additions BIG difference. She makes gift boxes in many different sizes and retails them at selected stores and takes orders and custom makes them too. You have to see these gorgeous pieces of art to agree with everything I have said above,if you wish to learn the art, Wrapistry will be in Hyderabad on 27th April 2013 to conduct a Gift wrapping and bow making workshop.

The good news is Amruta has been kind enough to grace Hyderabad with her presence and teach us how to master the art of wrapping.

I went a little off from Jaipur last week. I was waiting to figure somethings out for the benefit of you guys and me. Anyways, back to Jaipur; Blue Pottery originated in Persia and was passed on to India. One of the most prominent names that goes with blue pottery is Mr Kriphal Singh. You guys can read more about it here. These guys have saved blue pottery from extinction and I got a preview of it. Its a simple process, but its an art in itself- you know why? You need a lot of patience, so much of it ...that I have a feeling, it's going to get extinct

You must know by now, that I love having a piece of anything beautiful I see. Greedy..I know!  Remember this? I am still working on my office and here's how I used my Blue Pottery.
