I have been slacking with blogging- you won't believe how much. I promise I have a very very valid excuse. You guys won't believe but I do have at least 20 posts that I need to share. Meanwhile here's what I have been up to for the last one and a half years. My dream project, the home decor store that I have put together with all my heart and soul - which is now complete and opened on the 13th of July. For those of you in Hyderabad, please do come. Details at the bottom of this post. In the next few posts, I will be walking you through the process of the construction, the interiors and much more. Stay tuned and talk to me. I want to hear all about what you guys think.

With the attempt to help everybody have a beautiful home I started Room Therapy in a small room called the studio at home and after two long years of hard work, sweat and whatever else it takes I now have a store that was my dream but also a space which is not only an inspiration but a place to just come an experience and feel good. In my next few posts I will be breaking up the store into various elements and walk you through the process of building it. For now- lets look at the whole picture.

It all started with a small idea to showcase what we do at Room Therapy and grew into a concept called SPACE.

 

 Come this Sunday and we will be ready to welcome all Hyderabadi's to a home and garden trunk show. SPACE, is a trunk show which is bringing six different designers from different genre's in the home and garden sector together under one roof. Well ,to be more clear not really under a roof- it is a garden sale.

I was away for a week to a far far land from home. Well, not thaaat far - I went to Amsterdam for the first time and I have to say, WHAT a great city. No! I am not talking about the infamous Red Light area or the famous coffee shops. I am infact amazed with the art, architecture, food, antique markets, culture...more art,design,flea markets.....and I can go on. There are a couple of things I want to share with all of you, however this is what is on top of my mind as fight through jet lag. The streets look gorgeous, not because there is some magical potion- just some easy, simple planters. I wanted to share these with you guys, because I think you and me can totally use these ideas for a better outdoor space. Planter Therapy it is!

I absolutely love these two, don't be surprised if I add these milk can planters to my garden

 

This is an interesting one, the ducts have been converted into planters and I don't know if the picture does justice, but it does look pretty good in person

I happened to find a fun glass jar a few weeks ago and wanted to fill it with decorative accessories or pebbles- nice but a little boring right! Meanwhile, I came across TERRARIUMS. It is in simple words a small glass garden or as some others may say, a perfect example of how the Eco system works. The temperature inside is controlled by a very basic principle. Read more here.  My job here is to help you make your space beautiful. Lets leave the science apart for now and learn how to make one. 

You need:

• a glass container with a top preferably
• pebbles
• charcoal- a thin layer
• moss
• soil
• assortment of plants- succulent plants would be great

What you do:

• layer container with materials 2-5 in the exact order
• plant plants, the tallest in the center.
• water the container
• cover the soil with marble chips or small pebbles
• seal terrarium with cover.

 

  

Maintain your terrarium.

No's
• No direct sunlight.
• No over watering your terrarium. if you see too much water on the walls, wipe it down

Do's
• When the plants start to droop, water your terrarium then

I lived by the beach in Los Angeles (Hermosa Beach) for a good two and a half years. The whole ambiance is so different from living in any other city. Summer 12 months of the year, beach volley ball, the water, the sand, the bars, the food....SIGH! We would BBQ at the beach sometimes and just lay on the sand all day long. I'm a water baby and would live by the water any day. Someday! I say someday...will wish to make that happen again. Until then here's a very "chill" backyard of a house in Manhattan beach. I remember walking by this house many times and I was fortunate to find the link to the pictures to share with you guys.

Last week, we (my friend and I) were hosting two brands showcase their products at my mother-in-law's garden. We decided to make it a high tea event - we don't do very many of those anymore, do we?! We wanted a rustic look, keeping a decent budget in mind. We worked out a few details to lay the table as well as the decor. I'm going to break this post into two and you will see why!

WORK IN PROGRESS

for the food flags, you need:

to print the description on handmade paper, 

cut it out and stick it on skewer sticks,

cut them to the height you need when your about to serve

I don't need to tell you too much about my mother-in-law's garden and her green thumb. this garden was one of my first posts- definitely inspiring to blog about. You guys remember this post ! You will see the same accessories in a new avatar(disguise) here.
