More Post Therapy- has a couple of different meanings a.I am back after child birth and baby duty b. I need therapy (be my guest and read into that statement)  c. i missed you all. Ok, back to business. In between baby duty and a couple of fun projects and running my store we took a small vacation to a gorgeous country last year. Greece, would really be more practical if I was a food blogger. Man the food...I could have just eaten all day everyday and not done anything else. However, I was inspired and hence I brought back some lessons.

I had done a post on our dear elephant god last year as well. This year, its going to be a little different. The go green bug had to bite me sooner or later. Although I am still a little sad that my Ganesha's wont be as colorful- still happy that we are not contributing to more wastes than there already is. Some friend's of mine put together a little soiree to make you're own. Must say- its was a pretty fun evening.

Here's what you need

1. clay
2. water
3. news paper

Method

1. make the following divisions in clay
2. put them together
3. let it dry overnight


and ....CELEBRATE.

I have been slacking with blogging- you won't believe how much. I promise I have a very very valid excuse. You guys won't believe but I do have at least 20 posts that I need to share. Meanwhile here's what I have been up to for the last one and a half years. My dream project, the home decor store that I have put together with all my heart and soul - which is now complete and opened on the 13th of July. For those of you in Hyderabad, please do come. Details at the bottom of this post. In the next few posts, I will be walking you through the process of the construction, the interiors and much more. Stay tuned and talk to me. I want to hear all about what you guys think.

With the attempt to help everybody have a beautiful home I started Room Therapy in a small room called the studio at home and after two long years of hard work, sweat and whatever else it takes I now have a store that was my dream but also a space which is not only an inspiration but a place to just come an experience and feel good. In my next few posts I will be breaking up the store into various elements and walk you through the process of building it. For now- lets look at the whole picture.

its is pretty simple...really simple

1. buy a slip cover or make you're own

2. print out the stencil in the size you require

3. cut out the cloth in the shapes on the stencil 

4. stick it with fabric glue or stitch it up neatly

I am ecstatic. This post is my 140th post and today is moreroomtherapy's ONE year anniversary. It was on this day 12 months ago that I wrote my first post. To this day, it has been one of the best decisions of my life. No no no......! I am not at all a dramatic person; barring the occasional days I rehearse and perform on stage.  

 It's just that this blog has brought me so much money, fame and happiness {only the later one is fully true and the fame part is not a lie}. Seriously though, blogging has been super fun. Apart from decor tips, I love posting the DIY's and posting about my travels. It's almost like I look forward to writing a new post. It's been a great journey. I am truly grateful to all my diligent followers. I will be posting some pictures of the best posts from last year, but for now I decided to reminisce my very first post bottles and decor.  And to dedicate to this awesome post- I present to you - More Bottle Therapy!

 This is almost the most easy DIY, i have done till date. All you need is:

• bottles (as many as you want)
• enamel paint - any colour [Yes! Asian Paints would be the best-est option, those guys really know how to help you make your home beautiful]
• syringe (ya, the one's doctors and nurses use..bigger the better)
• turpentine and a waste cloth 

So here's what you do.

• fill the syringe with enamel paint
• push it into the bottle and release the paint
• turn the bottle around to spread the paint
• drip the excess paint off and clean up the patches of excess paint with the turpentine
• let the bottles dry in the sun and preferably for 24 hours or more 
• add your favorite accessories; flowers/photos/candles

And just like that we spent hardly any money and achieved more bottle therapy.These bottles are great as center pieces, scattered around the house, indoors- outdoors, in bathrooms. Asian Paints Home Soloutions enables you to  make your home beautiful! Don't you think?

glass jars, satin ribbons, lace, twine, fabric glue and fevicol

{light note: will help to cut lace with scissors :P}

 

We live in the 21st century and should have the option of enjoying the festival of lights in any which way right?
