I believe I can fly!

Saturday, 7 March 2015

the store is where my heart is these days... I am constantly at the store and feel like giving some of the areas a makeover every now and then. When we launched the store, we had some fun tin clocks up on our feature wall. After a few weeks- I made some changes to get a whole new look. I wanted to write this post to show you guys how you can create you're very own piece of art without being much of an artist.

i know stripes make us women look fat but who said you can't have it on you're wall? in fact, it is one of the most easiest of wall decors- ornamental yet subtle, complicated yet fully doable! i have walked myself around the globe and brought you these lovely images - ENJOY!

plates on the wall

Saturday, 18 January 2014

Plates! One would never associate them with anything else other than food and eating out of- however, these guys have been popular from time to time on walls as wall decor. Here are few of the walls in my home and my personal collection.

Love Letters (no, like a, B, c...not mail) ! Always such a nice way to personalize a house.

.....and these ones- straight out of a thrift store. I must have got them for under 100Rs each (Hush! I have the neighbours thinking its vintage and worth $$$$)

as for all you lovelies wondering how to hang a plate, date back to my previous post  how to hang a plate? Simple eh?! Also, remember this?

Raja-rani ki kahani

Tuesday, 3 December 2013

in a land far far away, there lived a king and his beautiful queen
the king was strong and the queen was ....

Well, well, I would have told you the whole story and what they did and how their beautiful daughter eventually got married; but I thought I'll leave it to the guests in my house to decide the story they want to prescribe.

Small makeover in my powder room, with a Raja- Rani (king & queen) theme.

So,THIS is how its all started. I found a bunch of old post cards which were painted in traditional styles during my last visit to Jaipur. Luckily soon enough I found old stamp paper/agreement papers that had kings and queens and their whole troop hand painted on one side in an antique store in Delhi.

RESULT: easy/pretty framed wall arts

we have some fun table and x'mas decor coming up for this holiday season,
stay tuned

Infinitea

Monday, 24 June 2013

I went here in college, went here when I was working and then when I got engaged and still go here now. Love this place. I overuse the word love on my posts sometimes. But, I do promise to cut it down after I finish telling you about Infinitea. This places sells tea. Super simple. So the decor is completely TEA-ish.  The posters that decorate the walls, the tea storage, the graffiti in the corners- all scream TEA. Kind of a very cool, kitsch setting I must say. I love {last time I promise} the hour glass timers and the tea pots they use. I feel that sometimes the aesthetics of a place gets enhanced with the way they serve and use normal things in a new style. What say?

This is new and some sort of a paper art. Super tempted to try and make it one of our DIY's. If I do- you'll obviously hear about it.

big boys den 1: the WALL

Friday, 14 June 2013

Although my husband is usually pretty supportive of my work, he usually complains that every room in the house has some feminine feature. He thinks I will prove to be a good decorator when the boys pay attention to the elements as well. Oh boy! I didn't really take up that challenge- I'm too happy with pretty things around me/us. However, I decided to work on a room just for the husband and the boys to hang (read: i want the drunk boys to stay away from the pretty stuff that can break ).

Project 1: Lets do up the WALL in the room

Here I used multiple type, size frames. Old advertisement prints- bought some, printed some. Quotes on wood. Caricatures of my husband :). Old cycle tyre. Voila!

 Planning and Execution.

Word ART: where i remind the husband important things in life !!
